Point n Follow
Designed an AI based natural method for new readers to progressively acquire level approprite reading skills that are essential for them in order to become proficient readers as adults. Patent pending.
Ideation
Goal - Enable new readers to develop better Directional Tracking skills so that they can learn to read effectively.
User Problem
The process of looking at and processing written words in a specified order is called
Directional Tracking. It is an arbitary, artificial facet of all human made written languages, which new
readers are expected to learn and naturally apply to read effectively and extract meaning.
However, new readers' inborn tendency is to non-sequentially look at various points of interests around given
content to extract meaning. Thus, they require specialized, long-term, continuous training to develop
Directional Tracking skills to become proficient readers as adults.
Our Solution
Point n Follow is an experience built on the top of existing audio-enabled eReaders, which
enables new readers to slide their fingers under the words to highlight and listen to them at a pace their
finger is moving.
Since the pace of their finger movement is directly proportional to amount and
complexity of information their brain can process, this technique automatically creates a personalized
experience for each unique user.
Moreover, Point n Follow can be integrated with a recommendation
system to provide content relative to users' patterns of progression in order to demonstrate measurable impact
on their learning.
